Dr. Mia Frezzo

Dr. Mia Frezzo is a veterinarian, wife and mother of three young children who resides in northern New Jersey.  Her passion for veterinary medicine was initiated and fostered by her uncle, also a veterinarian, with whom she worked and studied since the age of 14. she graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and returned home to New Jersey to practice veterinary medicine.  She is the owner and Medical Director of the Animal Hospital of Hasbrouck Heights in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. Dr. Frezzo’s patients, primarily dogs and cats, benefit greatly from her combined holistic and traditional approach with an emphasis on doTERRA Essential Oils, natural health and prevention of illness.

Dr. Frezzo became convinced of the power of essential oils when the oils cured her 2 year old daughter of a chronic respiratory illness, and she no longer had to rely on a nebulizer and daily prescription medications. As Dr. Frezzo became increasingly frustrated with her daughter’s lack of progress and dependence on medications, she sought other remedies. Within just two weeks
of using doTERRA Breathe and OnGuard, her daughter’s respiratory issues were fully resolved.

It was this profound experience that changed Dr Frezzo and her family’s lives.  It also changed Dr. Frezzo’s approach to the care of her patients. Dr. Frezzo utilizes natural healthcare with her family, friends, clients and pets

This experience also led to writing the book; SpOil Your Pet: A Practical Guide to Using Essential Oils in Dogs and Cats

Dr. Frezzo speaks proudly and confidently in support of the use of doTERRA Essential Oils and natural products for animal health. She has seen remarkable improvements in the physical and emotional well-being of her patients.

These pure, medical grade essential oils provide relief of joint and muscle discomfort in a safe, effective manner.

Case study:

Using Essential Oils Along Side Veterinary Care

Meet Layla

Layla’s back pain was much improved after taking non-steroidal antiinflammatory medication (NSAID) for a few weeks. Layla’s owner requested a refill of the medication. While a pet could safely take NSAID’s for a period of time, it is ideal to minimize long term use of some medications, whenever possible. Over time, medications may negatively affect certain organs, such as the liver and kidneys. I opened a discussion with Layla’s owner recommending she try a combination of topical aromatouch, Frankincense, Copaiba and Turmeric twice daily instead of medication. Combining these oils in a single roller bottle diluted with fractionated coconut oil (FCO) made the application easy and quick. these pure, medical grade essential oils provide relief of joint and muscle discomfort in a safe, effective manner.

Dr. Frezzo has been appointed to the doTERRA International Veterinary Advisory Panel. the panel consists of Veterinarians from the U.S. and Canada.
With this panel in place, they will be providing important education and helpful usage tips on Essential Oils with pets. Dr. Frezzo is one of only 11% of veterinarians that are AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited.

Dr. Mia Frezzo On Essential Oil Quality

The majority of commercially produced essential oils are not thoroughly tested for purity, potency and consistency. Thus, the resulting essential oils may contain contaminants and harmful chemicals, including herbicides, pesticides, industrial solvents and phthalates. this potential contamination becomes increasingly important if you plan to apply or diffuse essential oils around your pets. pets are more sensitive to additives and chemicals than people are.

Poor quality essential oils may contain ingredients that could render the oil ineffective or dangerous. Pure, high quality essential oils that contain the appropriate concentration of natural chemicals will ensure that they are effective for your pet needs and will continue to provide health benefits in the long term. This is especially important if you are interested in using essential oils preventatively or if your pet is suffering from a chronic ailment
